Hapet Blue Eyes dahlia tuber.
Large, striking blooms in an elegant, soft color. Hapet Blue Eyes is a Dinnerplate Dahlia with a decorative flair. Very large, 8" fully double, white flowers are gently accented with lilac at the tip of each petal. This is a sturdy cultivar that boasts strong, straight, long stems perfect for cut-flower arrangements with size and substance. We like to see them in groups along a sunny back border or as an anchor plant in a mixed bed. For best results, plant in full sun and remove spent flowers for a neat appearance. 4-5' plant height.
Planting: Your tubers can go directly into the ground in the spring when the ground has warmed and there is little chance of frost. One good guideline is to plant in the same time frame as you would a tomato. If you want blooms as early as possible, you can start the tubers indoors in good light about a month before planting time. You will then have a small plant ready at planting time. Dahlias can be planted as late as mid-June in most parts of the country.
