This listing is for one vase.
This piece was made on the potters wheel by Lindsey from raku clay. The clay was burnished to leave the shiny finish on the surface. After the initial bisque firing, it was fired in a raku kiln and removed from the heat while it was red hot.
At that time, horse tail hair was laid onto the piece and burned away, leaving a carbon imprint from the hair (the black squiggly lines). This vase measures 8.5" tall and is 7" at its widest point.
PLEASE NOTE- this vase is not water-tight. It is meant for decoration/to hold dried flowers. HOWEVER, it was designed to fit a 3.5" x 7" tall glass vase that could be inserted in order to hold live flowers. This vase can be found at most craft stores- it is not included in the purchase of this piece. Please let me know if you have any questions. Thank you for looking!
