The piece has lovely ruby zinc crystals on a blue, red and silver background. These crystals actually GROW during the firing and cooling process! No two pieces are ever alike. The ruby crystals have a silver shimmer and dance about the dark blue and ruby and white background. The colors change as you move around the vase, with the crystals changing from a smoky green at the base to red and copper. The colors change as the piece has direct light on it. Towards the bottom of the vase is a smoky green color.
This vase was handmade on the potters wheel from porcelain clay by Lindsey and fired to over 2300 F in an electric kiln. It was fired a third time in a gas kiln to create the ruby colors and iridescent shine. No two are ever alike!
