Summer Events

What's Next?

Summer is in full swing here on the South Coast and visitors are flocking from all over to visit the farms, the coast and the shops in our community. I was blown away by the response from the July Open Studio Tour weekend! It was simply wonderful to see old friends, meet new ones and share my art with you. The weekend was a great reminder for why I create these items and why I volunteer with the South Coast Artists to help organize the tour.

Your support, kindness and encouraging words has fueled my creative spirit to keep making new work and prepare for the next weekend in August. But that's not all! There are more things happening this summer. Read on to learn about more great things that 2021 has to offer! As always, thank you for your support- it means the world.

8 Visions

8 Visions

This year, I am honored to be included in the Attleboro Arts Museum 8 Visions Exhibition. Since 2002 the Attleboro Arts Museum has presented a late summer “Visions” group exhibition featuring the work of juried member artists.

The exhibiting artist review process for 8 Visions began during the Museum’s Members’ Exhibition in December of 2020. Over 60 artists applied to be considered for this premiere exhibition opportunity. Members’ Exhibition juror Jennifer Jean Okumura, a practicing artist and President and founding Exhibition Chair for National Association of Women Artists, Inc., MA chapter, carefully reviewed the work of these artists and the field was narrowed down to twenty.

Two new jurors, Anne Corso, Executive Director of the Southern Vermont Arts Center and Lauren Riviello, former Executive Director of the Brookline Arts Center in Brookline, MA, were invited to continue the process and combed through the twenty portfolios.

In the end, a talented team of eight was selected. Working in diverse mediums and concepts, the 2021 8 Visions artists will exhibit their work in an in-gallery exhibition from August 3rd – 28th.

August Open Studio

Work in Progress The second (and final) weekend of the South Coast Artists Open Studio Tour will take place August 21-22, 2021. The focus for this weekend will be all new crystalline work. I have been pushing the limits of my porcelain to create some larger items as well as re-stock my minis and everything in between. Even if you came to visit in July, there will be loads of new work ready for August.

I am also thinking of offering private shopping appointments the Friday before the tour (August 20th, 2021) to allow those of you who wish for a quieter experience a one-on-one visit to the studio and a first look at the new work. More information and how to sign up will be available as we get closer to the tour.
