Tulip 'Backpacker' is a beauty with an unlikely name, given in honor of Dutch youth who go exploring in Australia. This variety is very uniform in shape and size. Flowers are warm violet-purple with multiple layers of petals that make it look more like a peony than a tulip. Inner petals are lighter giving blooms extra dimension.
