November in the Studio
The past couple of months have flown by! Dahlia season was bountiful this year and while the flowers are all gone, I am still busy dividing all the tubers for winter storage, among the many other tasks here on the pottery farm.
Tubers will go on sale sometime in March (stay tuned for an exact date) but sure to check out the dahlia page if you would like to see a preview of some of the varieties that will be available. Almost 6,000 tulip bulbs have been planted for spring bouquets in a new field for 2022 along with supplementing the daffodils along the driveway entrance.
Meanwhile in the studio, I have been burning the midnight oil making as many pots as possible to prepare for this holiday season. With changes to my schedule last year due to the pandemic, I have chosen to re-evaluate my fall schedule- I will not be participating in any art shows or fairs this year. Instead, I will have an online shop update the weekend following Thanksgiving with the focus on e-commerce sales.
The next web shop update will go live on Friday, November 26th at 10am EST. Email list subscribers will be the first to be notified and receive a special discount code that will be active on new products through November 29th. Click here to sign up for the email list.
During the month of December, I will continue to populate the online store with new products as they become available. You will also have opportunities to visit the studio in person during the first three weekends of December. During that time, the studio will be open Fridays from 12-7pm and Saturdays & Sunday from 10-4pm.
Many of the shops in Tiverton Four Corners will also remain open for later shopping hours on Fridays as well, so it's a perfect time to shop small and support the local businesses and studios in this area. Bright Night is an annual tradition in T4C happening Friday, December 3rd, 4-7pm for an evening of energy-filled holiday shopping. Frolic through a festive, brightly lit neighborhood of galleries & shops as you enjoy holiday décor & special offers to complete your list.
Luminaries will light the way with an array of shops to visit as well as an annual community exhibition presented by the Four Corners Arts Center. The 8th Annual re-Tree, an outdoor showcase of home-made trees of recycled materials created by community members.
Locally, a few fellow artists will also be having holiday open houses including: Don Cadoret for his 28th annual Holiday Open House on December 4-5. There will be plenty of hand-painted trees, boxes and brand new original Storypaintings available. Everything will be nestled in and among our collections of antique Christmas feather trees, snowmen, Santas, ornaments and other gems. For more information, please contact Don directly.
Kelly Milukas will also be open on December 4th, for her Holiday Open Studio. Her colorful paintings and sculptures can all be seen in her new studio space just down the road.
Don't forget about the wonderful vendors to visit weekly at the Tiverton Farmer's Market on Tuesdays from 2-5:30pm at Sandywoods.
