Open Studio Tour Season is Here!
This summer marks my 8th year participating in the South Coast Artists (SCA) Open Studio Tour. The Tour is a free event designed for the entire family. There are 75 artists within the surrounding towns of Tiverton & Little Compton, RI and Westport & Dartmouth, MA who open their studio doors on the weekends of July 15-16 and August 19-20, 2023.
Studio visits encourage an open dialogue between you and the artist within their personal creative space. That connection is the key to developing a meaningful relationship with art, the artist, and the creative process. I offer demonstrations throughout the weekend, but the day can get busy with visitors, and I am not always working with clay. If you stop in and would like to see a demonstration- please, don’t be shy, just ask! I’d be happy to show you how I make things on the wheel. This opportunity allows you to be curious and ask questions about my process.
SCA is proud of reaching this 20-year milestone of Tours because it speaks to the strength of our community of artists and art lovers. Participation in the arts has grown exponentially here along the South Coast. SCA continues to thrive because of the enthusiastic support of talented artists, generous sponsors, and dedicated volunteers. Thousands of volunteer hours enable SCA to provide one of the finest art experiences in New England. I am honored to be one of the Vice Presidents of this non-profit organization, as well as the Chair of Communications and Digital Marketing.
