This piece was hand made on the potter’s wheel from porcelain clay by Lindsey and measures
- 5” tall and approx. 3.75" diameter.
The coppery zinc crystals covering the surface float on a pewter, silver and teal background. While this glaze is in the 'cobalt galaxy' collection, it is a slightly different color, with a bit more green in the background color, and more bronze colors to the crystals.
Due to the unique nature of crystalline glazes, no two pieces are ever alike. The crystals are actually grown during the firing and cooling process (which reaches over 2300 degrees Fahrenheit). The time and temperature must be accurate in order to achieve crystal growth on the piece.
