This vase was hand-made from porcelain clay on the potter's wheel by Lindsey. It is glazed with an iridescent copper green zinc crystalline glaze on a satiny olive green background. The small crystals seem to pop off the surface of this unique vase.
Due to the unique nature of crystalline glazes, no two pieces are ever alike. The crystals are actually grown during the firing and cooling process. The time and temperature must be accurate in order to achieve crystal growth on the piece. Copper, manganese and iron are used in the glaze in order to achieve the deep green color. This vase is nice and sturdy, perfect to support a large arrangement that might be top heavy. It’s also beautiful on its own.
