'Tulipware' is a new line of work from the studio, celebrating the joy of spring and tulip season. This platter was hand built from clay by Lindsey. After that, the tulip designs were hand-painted with black underglaze. After the initial bisque firing, the piece was painted again with colored underglaze to complete the design, and fired again.
After that firing, the piece was glazed with a clear glaze, which has some pearlescent areas, and fired once more to over 2200 degrees Fahrenheit. Due to the handmade nature, the is a slight wavy-ness to the sides of the tray.
The plate is technically microwave and dishwasher safe, but due to it's size, that is a rather impractical use for this tray.
