This listing is for one mini airplant container measuring 2.5" w x 3.75" h.
The vase was handmade on the potters wheel with texture added to look like stone. It was fired in a raku kiln to create the final glaze color.
The raku process is responsible for myriad of colors on the piece. While the piece was red hot, it was removed from the kiln and placed in a combustion chamber with leaves, newsprint, hay and sawdust where it ignites. After 30-60 seconds, a lid is placed on the chamber where the flames are starved for oxygen. It is in this moment where the magic happens and all the colors change from teal with hints of red to yellow, and green.
Want it with an airplant? You got it (although it might differ from the one shown). Have your own airplant needing an awesome container? Just let me know in the comment section and I will send it off awaiting its new friend. If you have any questions, please ask.
PLEASE NOTE: This piece is still porous, like a terra cotta flower pot, and not suitable for holding water. It is designed as a decorative vase for airplants or dried flowers.
